How to create geometric logos

Use the square grid and snapped polygon tool to build sharp, symmetrical marks from simple shapes.

Geometric logos work best when every edge lines up. Logo Lattice's square grid snaps your vertices to a regular lattice, so triangles, chevrons, and blocky letterforms stay crisp without manual alignment.

Set up the canvas

  1. Open the editor and switch the grid overlay to Square in the top function bar.
  2. Keep placement on Snap so every click lands on a grid intersection.
  3. Press 1 to activate the Draw tool, or click it in the left toolbar.

Draw a simple mark

Click once per vertex along the grid. For a diamond, place four points one cell apart. Double-click or click the first point again to close the shape. The grid makes it easy to mirror proportions - count cells rather than eyeballing pixels.

Combine primitives

Press 5 for the Shape tool and drag out squares, triangles, hexagons, or stars directly on the grid. Each primitive respects the same snap settings as hand-drawn polygons. Layer several shapes, then use Select (2) to move and resize groups. Hold Shift while resizing to lock aspect ratio.

Finish and export

  1. Open the Style panel to set fill and stroke colours. A single bold fill with no stroke often reads best at small sizes.
  2. Use Select to box-select everything and centre the mark on the canvas.
  3. Click Export in the function bar, choose the SVG or PNG tab, and download. See the export guide for backgrounds, social sizes, and app icons.
